Serve on a TLC Committee
Do you have experience with fund raising, finance, marketing, or website development? Are you interested in being involved with the planning of TLC’s national event, All Join Hands? We may have a committee for you!
All Join Hands
We are looking for volunteers to help coordinate various aspect of this national event, including Bad Hair Life screenings, Hands-Down-a-Thons, Salon Weeks, School and Community presentations, and Media Outreach. We are also looking for people who are interested in holding local events in their community.
Host a screening of the documentary Bad Hair Life
TLC can help send out invitations to a screening of Bad Hair Life in your own living room. Pair it with a potluck dinner during the screening. Charge a $5 - $20 admission fee, which will be donated to TLC.
Give a presentation to your school
If you have a child with trich or want to reach out to children with trich, this is the project for you! First, decide your audience (staff? students? parents?) and talk to the school about getting on the schedule to speak to this group for 30-60 minutes. TLC will provide you with talking points for addressing each specific audience, TLC brochures, and a 12-minute video about kids with trich called Straight from the Heart. Simply you will be teaching the next generation what trich is (and is NOT) and how to help someone who has trich.
Host a Trich talk in your community
If you are active in a community group (church, hobby club, charitable association, professional group, etc), you can ask to be a speaker on the group's agenda at an upcoming meeting. Using talk points provided by TLC, you can tell your story, provide Information , and answer any questions. This will educate dozens of people, who will take away a greater understanding of trich and its challenges.
Get the word out about Trichotillomania and Skin Picking
Raising awareness is just as important as raising money. Help TLC inform people about trichotillomania and skin picking by distributing brochures to hair salons, doctors’ offices, and schools.
Fund Raising
Help TLC raise much needed funds by securing additional corporate sponsors for the conference, retreat, and All Join Hands.
