Our Goal: To raise awareness...

This special week will consist of local events hosted by TLC members in their communities. TLC will provide you with a "how-to" kit, talking points, brochures, and support. You simply decide what kind of event you would like to make happen in your town, and we'll send you Information on how to do it!  This is your opportunity to gather together with others to bring trichotillomania out of the shadows and into the light of public awareness and understanding. We're calling it All Join Hands because when we join hands, we're working together, we're moving forward - and we're not pulling!

Sign ups will begin in late summer 2008, stay tuned for details!

If you have experience or contacts in the media, please contact, TLC

There are three main messages we want to consistently convey during All Join Hands. Focusing on these three points will lead to a unified, accurate, and Informative nationwide event!

  1. Trichotillomania is relatively common disorder affecting 2-4% of the population, including people from all backgrounds, which has both biological and behavioral aspects.
  2. For many, the psychological impact of trich can be severe, including intense feelings of shame, isolation, and loss of control.
  3. There is help available for sufferers and their families. Contact TLC at www.trich.org for Information , resources, and treatment referrals.
